Zarzo Basket Workshop Two

9th March 2024
Time: 10:30 - 16:30
Cost: £90
Venue: The Workshop - 68 Whitley Road Whitley Bay NE26 2NE

Description

This is a delightful, fun, full day of weaving. You will learn specific technical weaving techniques traditionally used for cheese production. Zarzo trays originated in Catalonia, where they were used to drain cheese from brine and then serve. This stunning basket is perfect to use for picnics, shopping, or carrying/displaying your treasured items.

The willow is locally grown at a cooperative plot in Northumberland. This is harvested once a year, and we are lucky enough to use different varieties that offer different colour combinations in your handmade basket.

In the ticket price, I offer a light lunch, a vegan soup and freshly baked bread from my lovely new neighbour, The Sustenance Society.

Also, tea and coffee.

Metro - Cullercoats or Whitley Bay

Car-free parking 100m next to Boots Chemist car park.

Bike - can lock up outside or in a private yard.
