Whitley Chapel Group - Hexham Abbey Festival
Hexham Abbey hosted the Northern Saints Flower Festival from July 26th to July 28th this year. Back in March, the WI asked if we would assist in producing a display based on Fenwick Lawson's "The Journey "of monks carrying Cuthbert's coffin to Durham.
Members of the group produced the 6 "monks" and a "coffin" during a couple of our self-help group meetings.
Ruth Marley of our group also sculpted a willow horse display piece for a separate WI group.
