The Whitley Chapel Basketry group ran a one-day workshop on 27th August, making an asymmetric willow basket with a wooden base. The course tutor was Jean Tinsley, and many of the participants had attended one of Jean's previous beginner's workshops.
The willow used was Dicky Meadows and Dark Dicks both grown at the Whitley Chapel plot. The handles were made of hazel, and the bases were crafted by Jean's husband.
Thanks for such a lovely day … I love my basket, the best one I’ve made. (KM)
